Healing: Use & Refill Medkits

Check the medkit’s charges before using it. Refill an empty kit with Medications, then hold its hotbar key to select the injured body part. Heal All is a separate action; verify its binding in your controls before relying on it during a fight.

At a glance

  • Medications refill medkits. They replaced healing ampules in the August update; loose Medications are not the same as a ready-to-use medkit.
  • One pile of Medications restores 100 medkit charges under update 0.4.0.93. Check both the kit’s capacity and its remaining charges.
  • September Steam replies describe Shift + T for Heal All and K for the management menu on PC. Custom bindings and controllers can differ.

Refill the kit before deploying

  1. Open your inventory and inspect the medkit’s remaining charges. Carrying an empty kit does not provide healing.
  2. Use the recharge button on the medkit icon, or drag Medications onto the kit. The equipment-check panel above the Body Sleeve also offers medical resupply.
  3. Verify that the charge count increased. Take enough charged medicine for the raid rather than counting loose medication piles as usable kits.

Choose manual healing or Heal All

  1. Move into cover and check which body part needs treatment.
  2. For a kit assigned to the hotbar, hold its assigned key and choose the body part from the selection menu. September players report that tapping the number alone can leave the item flashing.
  3. Alternatively, use your configured Heal All action. September PC replies report Shift + T; check Options → Controls for your own binding.
  4. Monitor health and remaining charges before returning to the fight. Since the August rework, one medkit use starts a healing process rather than requiring repeated uses for every increment.

Which medicine does quick healing select?

The official quick-healing rule in update 0.4.0.55 selects medkits before injectors and searches pockets before the inventory. This describes item selection, not a guarantee about which injured body part receives treatment first.

  • Keep a charged medkit accessible if you want quick healing to use it.
  • A Burst Injector and a refillable medkit are different items. Check the item description and available uses before packing your medical reserve.
  • A “nothing to heal with” tooltip is a reason to inspect charges and available items, not to keep repeating the same key.

Fix a kit that flashes or does nothing

The assigned hotbar number only flashes.Inspect the kit’s charges, then hold the assigned key to open body-part selection. Check that you assigned a kit rather than refill Medications.

An empty kit will not heal.Load Medications using the inventory recharge action. Players also describe Load Medkit in the PC management menu, commonly bound to K.

Right-clicking makes an item disappear.Stop and inspect the ground, inventory and hotbar. In the September discussion, right-click is described as clearing a hotbar assignment or dropping an inventory item depending on context; it is not a reliable healing command.

The listed shortcut does not work.Check the binding for Heal All and the management menu on your platform. Use the inventory recharge action and manual body-part selection while resolving the binding.
