Solo Guide

Solo is a squad-size setting. Open + Solo matches you with other solo players, while Isolated lets you raid without other player squads. Choose Isolated for PvE or Open + Solo for solo PvPvE, then plan your equipment and extraction route around playing alone.

At a glance

  • Open + Solo is solo-only PvPvE. Other solo players can still enter the raid.
  • Isolated is the correct choice for learning landmarks, monster behavior, and objective interactions without hostile player squads.
  • In solo play, keep a cleared retreat route and reserve enough healing and ammunition for extraction.

Make every route reversible

  1. At spawn, identify one large landmark and the direction of the nearest practical extraction.
  2. Move from cover to cover and name the last safe junction in your head.
  3. Before interacting with an objective, identify the nearest hard cover and the route back.
  4. After firing, move to cover before sorting your backpack or checking loot.
  5. Once the objective is secured, take the known route out unless your resources are still comfortably above reserve.

Replace missing teammates with information

  • Stop moving briefly to separate footsteps, monster audio, gunfire, and your own equipment noise.
  • Use doors, stairwells, and corners to reduce the number of directions visible at once.
  • Do not flee into an unexplored room or dense vegetation. Reverse through cleared ground.
  • Assume extraction approaches can contain a final threat and protect one combat reserve for it.
  • Treat a completed objective as a reason to reduce risk, not permission to fill every empty slot.

Common solo failures

You selected Solo and still met a player.Solo filters squad composition. Select Isolated when the goal requires a player-free raid.

A monster chase pulls you into more enemies.Break contact along the route you already cleared, then turn from hard cover.

You win the fight and die while looting.Reload, heal, scan, relocate, and only then search the body.
